International Youth Film Festival & Anthology, 2026

Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a free program of outstanding short films created by young filmmakers from around the world. This special event offers a unique opportunity to experience contemporary youth cinema in the unforgettable atmosphere of an open-air theater.

​

A large inflatable cinema screen will transform Morganton's downtown square into an outdoor movie venue. Bring your camping chairs or blankets, relax under the stars, and enjoy inspiring films from the next generation of storytellers.

​

The program begins at 7:30 PM. Screenings will start shortly after sunset, when it becomes dark enough for outdoor projection, and will conclude at approximately 9:30 PM.
 

​ For those unable to attend in person, the festival will also be live streamed online, allowing our international ambassadors, partner film schools, young filmmakers, and audiences around the world to experience the event together. We invite everyone to become part of the growing Planet Frame community.

Weather Information

​

If rain or strong winds are forecast for Friday, September 25, the festival program will be relocated to Morganton Community House – Cobb Room, the festival's official indoor backup venue. Any relocation decision will be made in accordance with the festival's approved Weather Contingency Plan.

In addition, Sunday, September 27, has been designated as a reserve outdoor screening day should weather conditions prevent one of the scheduled open-air festival evenings from taking place.
