About the Project
The Stone Bread Film Project was an independent educational filmmaking initiative founded by Anna Raevskaya. The project was named after its first film, Stone Bread, and became the foundation of an original educational methodology that combined filmmaking, history, research, and the personal development of teenagers through direct participation in film production.
​
Unlike traditional children's film studios, the project was built on the principle of learning through real practice. Its participants were schoolchildren and teenagers with no professional acting experience, who took part in every stage of filmmaking—from historical research and script development to filming, editing, and public premieres.
​
A special part of the project consisted of educational film expeditions to remote historical regions of Russia. Filming took place at authentic historical locations in collaboration with historians, museums, archives, search teams, and military historical reenactment clubs.
​
The experience and educational philosophy developed through the Stone Bread Film Project later became the foundation of the Planet Frame International Film Festival.

Project Legacy
Over more than ten years, the Stone Bread Film Project brought together more than 250 participants, including schoolchildren, university students, teachers, historians, search team members, military reenactors, volunteers, and cultural professionals from different regions of Russia.
​
The project organized more than 30 educational film expeditions, produced feature and documentary films, and implemented cultural, educational, and international initiatives dedicated to preserving historical memory, cultural heritage, and fostering environmental awareness.
​
The project's original educational methodology—based on learning through practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, expedition-based research, and real film production—became the foundation for the Planet Frame International Film Festival.
​
Today, Planet Frame continues to develop the ideas established by the Stone Bread Film Project, bringing together participants from different countries around the themes of cinema, education, ecology, historical memory, cultural heritage, international cooperation, and youth creativity, while preserving the project's original mission: to educate a new generation through the art of cinema, exploration of the world, and collaborative creative work.
