Join the Planet Frame Film Lab 2026 and create your first short film or video essay.

No filmmaking experience is required.

​

Throughout the summer, participants will explore local rivers, streams, lakes, water quality, watershed science, and environmental research while learning how to transform their observations into meaningful visual stories.

​The Planet Frame team will help participants:

• Develop a story idea

• Plan and organize filming

• Edit footage

• Prepare a final film for public screening

Participants will receive:

​

• Free educational webinars

• Creative mentoring and filmmaking support

• Step-by-step guidance throughout the project

• Opportunity to screen their film during Planet Frame International Youth Film Festival 2026

Selected films will be screened on a large outdoor screen in downtown Morganton during the festival.
